Putra Mosque

Today is Awal Muharram so its a public holiday here. After posting this entry I'll make my way to Putrajaya again, but then again it might not be such a good idea after all as the mosque might be crowded with people doing prayers. (i.e. Hard to find a parking space!)

Back to my story that day, visitors are allowed to walk in the compound of the mosque but there are rules to adhere to. I had to wear a pink robe just like many other female visitors there. The place is very peaceful and breezy, really calming :-) However, I was very distracted with my thirst :-/

When I was walking out of the mosque, I overheard a lady said: "The kids are off to buy drinks." My eyes widened! I quickly followed the crowd and went down some stairs. At the end there I saw a food court, yay! After surveying around I finally settled to this... Shaved ice sweetened with syrups and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. I was practically orgasming to it after a hot day of walking around heheh. It also has other nice ingredients that is hidden under all the ice; at the price of USD1, you be the judge :-) However, the one I had in Kajang is a whole lot better than the one shown in the photo because Kajang's has a lot more ingredients :-P

As a matter of fact, I'm going to get one right now. Hmm... Kajang or Putrajaya? :-D

PS: I don't smoke. However I sat at the smoking area in the food court because thats the only place protected from the sun's rays :-/

Atop the Putrajaya Bridge

I walked around the main square that day, since it was such a hot day I was extremely thirsty. Note to self: Must bring a bottle of water with me next time. I didn't walk the length of the bridge that day, I drove instead. More photos of the mosque coming up in future posts!

On another note, its Chinese New Year this weekend so I won't be around for a few days. Gosh I miss watching Lion Dances! Happy Chinese New Year everyone!!! 新年快乐!万事如意!恭喜发财!!!

Silhouette

I caught this image just as I was about to leave the place. I could've enjoyed the place more if I wasn't so worried about my motorcycle all alone in a parking lot quite far away. (Later the security guard informed me that there's a nearer parking lot).

This place is very nice and breezy, the view is so vast and the closest thing I could have for a beach inland. As the weather wasn't so helpful that day, plus I was worried sick with my bike I decided to leave early and visit again next weekend. I went to Putrajaya yesterday but traffic was horrible on a weekday, the cars are so fast and dangerous! Therefore I'll only come here on weekends where the roads are emptier.

Putrajaya Millennium Monument

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been out a lot recently and always return home extremely tired =) Last Sunday I went to visit the Putrajaya Millennium Monument (an old entry here), after managing to get myself lost on three other different occasions trying to get here I finally got lucky that day =D

Unfortunately the weather isn't so nice as always, I'm just lucky it didn't rained. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip there and I will tell more about it in my future posts. Its late now and time for me to sleep! ^_^

Kajang

I'm tempted to say "The sleepy town of Kajang", but with the amount of traffic congestion everyday its far from being sleepy :-P

Abandoned Park

This is an abandoned park behind the Alamanda Putrajaya mall. Its a pretty park actually if cleaned and maintained well. When I think back it was actually very dangerous of me to venture here alone, not only that there isn't a single soul within 200m I also had to cross this badly rotted bridge as well. I really should stop pushing my luck next time :-P

Vignette

Somehow this photo gave me a very greeting card feel :-D
I just learnt this technique last night, what do you think? ;-)

Remembering Arthur

I found this photo in my old wallet the other day and decided to scan it. It was only a 2R photo, thats why it isn't as sharp. This picture was taken in 1998 with a 35mm normal film camera, Arthur was only 5 weeks old here :-)

This picture was not planned actually, I wanted to get a frontal shot of him but as I press the shutter he turned and yawned. To my suprise the photo came out good and was very popular with my family and friends. I had to take orders to re-develop the photos for them :-D

Arthur was a very good puppy, obedient, beautiful and with a very mild temper to boot. He may be a mongrel but I suspect his dad was a Japanese Spitz because the grown up Arthur looked exactly like that, only that Arthur had shorter fur :-)

Unfortunately Arthur died a few years ago, I wasn't there during his last moments on earth :-( Rest in peace old friend~

White Trees

I saw this outside a mall yesterday, the first thing that crossed my mind was "White Christmas" :-P Wonder what are they for, or were they being discarded since Christmas season is over? But most importantly, the people who painted all the branches white sure have a lot of patience!!! o_O

Keyboard Keys

Although we may look like just any other people in the planet, each and every one of us is unique in their own way. Just like keys on a keyboard, if one person in the community goes missing it will truly be felt~

Egret

I am back from my hiatus! :-D However, after a lot of thinking I realised that I can't keep up with the a photo everyday theme since I don't get many chances to go out and shoot. The rainy season that has been going on since November and my bad health doesn't help either~

Ok, excuses aside hope you like this egret photo I took from a local park. I must say I really enjoyed taking egret photos. At times they are naughty and move a lot, other times they stand so still I doubt they're alive :-D Too bad they were too far from me to make it a good shot, even for 12x optical zoom :-)

Here's a 360° view of the park, well part of it since its such a big one. Please ignore the amount of noise in it as there is a ship nearby doing... Actually I have no idea what it is doing there :-P
