Barbie

I bought this Barbie doll yesterday as my model, she was cheap for a Barbie and has a very nice caramel scent. The colours were too distracting so I opted for black and white.

Also, my parents are coming to visit for two weeks so there won't be updates on the site within the time frame because I'll be taking them around. (Plus, they don't know this blog exist! >_<)

Huge

I like this picture because it shows how relatively huge the twin towers are :) Too bad the sky wasn't too cooperative~

Frankly I haven't done any shooting for two weeks already because I'm just too darn lazy heh, so I dug my archives for this week's posts. I noticed that my standards were once again raised as I can't seem to find photos that tickle my fancy. Mediocre shots I have a lot, but not exceptional ones. Except for this couple-flower picture, I've always known it's great and it's been deliberately saved to post on desperate days like these :-D Anyway, these four pictures were taken 2 months ago and the only one that made it through was this.

PS: It was because during March 19th I went street shooting with a bunch of people from photomalaysia.com and became obssessed with pictures from that outing :-)

Sun

I've always wanted to capture the sun as a visible globe, since I am not using a DSLR I can only rely on clouds to tone down the glare. What do you think of this picture?

Netting

Noise added because I'm not fond of "clean" black and white photos. However, artificial noise still can't compare to real camera noise. By the way, what can he catch in waters this shallow? :-)

Wall

This is a picture of a small rock climbing wall found in the local park. I really should return, unleash the child in me and attempt to conquer it without falling down :)

Fresh After the Rain II

Offtopic talk: I'm currently very unmotivated right now so I don't think there'll be many updates from here on :( Hopefully I'll get the drive back soon...

Lembiding

This is an edible wild vegetation that has a strong smell that I don't like, I found this while walking around my neighbourhood a few weeks ago. Brings back a lot of memories, as a child I sometimes went picking these plants with my siblings to sell in the market for extra pocket money :) The white thingy attached to it is some sort of worm so don't eat that >_<

Watercolour

Learnt this interesting technique to make a photo look like a watercolour painting from Digital Camera Magazine. Took me a few tries to achieve the look I want, did it work? :)

Toy

Seriously, it looks more like a toy than a real bird!

Nature's Frame

This was the view I saw when I looked upwards to the sky at the end of the caves. And yeah I know the highlights are blown, too bad :(

Scratch

Line

This is my favourite from the trip. I initially just wanted the line the green dome thingy formed, but then the people made good supporting subjects in showing how they are humbled from the hardship of climbing up the stairs in this holy place. Am I making any sense? I don't know how to explain but it has the X-Factor to me! >_<

Fascination

Looks like it's not just humans that were in awe with the breathtaking scenery :) And yes, the photo is blurred intentionally to look softer and more serene.

Goddess

What I love about this picture is it only underwent minimal post processing such as minor levels tweaking and sharpening, that's it ^_^

Deities

Love the perspective in this photo :) A lady tourist took pictures of these statues right after I did, I wonder how her shots will turn out since she was only using a compact digital cam and didn't use a tripod.

Entrance

I took this picture to show how magnificent it is inside the cave, it is also very cool in there. Although we climbed the stairs at noon when the sun is the harshest, it didn't feel hot at all as cold air escaped from the caves and swept down onto the stairs. It's as if someone installed a huge air conditioning unit there hehe.
