Moon Flare

Nikon D40 @ 130mm, ISO200, f5.6, 0.77 sec.

This is a composite of two images, one exposed for the moon while the other exposed for the sky.  Only then can it portray the beautiful scene I saw, a clear full moon surrounded by a halo shining the nearby moving clouds.

Unfortunately this image does not do the scene justice, I really need a good sturdy tripod =/ This is my first try in blending two images together, what do you think?

Sand Crab

Nikon D40 @ 200mm, ISO200, f8, 1/25 sec.  Cropped, partial Gaussian blur, warm touch up.

A tiny sand crab coming out from the safety of its burrow to check me out.  From the amount of sand balls outside, this crab has one deep hole.

Taken at July last year, I was testing the macro capabilities of 18-200VR.  The result was acceptable =)

Panasonic DMC-FZ5, telemacro mode, cropped, Gaussian blurred partly.

Taken in July, both puppy and kitten has grown a lot since then!
